Sailing is really attractive in such a wind blessed area with the amazing water conditions that you find on Ilha do Guajirú.
But sailing is even more challenging when you try to master the local “Jangada” boats with their centuries old unchanged design and technology!
Basic and unstable as they seem the reality is to the extreme contrary, being ideally designed for the local sailing conditions.
At the most upwind area of Praia do Guajirú where most of the island´s Jangada´s are anchored you can board the boat and start your trip.
Visit www.windguru.cz or www.windfinder.com and check the latest wind forecast on Ilha do Guajirú to pick the best possible day.
Go sailing on the open sea or on the Main Lagoon at the downwind beaches of Praia do Guajirú, where you also find the island´s windsurfers.
Alternatively, if you are not a sailor but appreciate a trip around the island´s different, beautiful spots make a deal for a group and have a good afternoons
fun while one of the Brazilian captains take you on a tour.
Speak to the locals and negotiate your personal deal for the trip or speak to Mr. Toca of pousada do Toca (see ´stay’) who can arrange it for you.
